A Field Trip I Will Never Forget

Today, the whole 7th grade went on a field trip to New Life Camp to do some outdoor work. Once a year we go and help them. It is always really fun, and after about two hours of hard work, we get to relax and enjoy not being at school. :)

When we first arrived, we are out pulling weeds within twenty minutes. I helped my dad out in the yard a lot this summer, so pullin' weeds was easy. It was pretty hard though not to pull up the luriape with the weeds. The boys were on one side of the hill pulling weeds, and the girls were on the other side. I asked one of the guys who works there if us girls were doing a better job than the boys. He said yes! :) Haha!

After pulling weeds for two hours, everyone was super hungry. Opening our lunch boxes and seeing that food was a wonderful sight. :) We had about a thirty minute lunch break, and then our middle school principal calls the whole grade to the outdoor chapel area. He told us that we were going to play capture the flag. I love playing that game!! It makes your heart pump like a race horse! It was super exciting until about five minutes into the game. I got a stupid cramp. I was like, "Great. Right when I am trying to run and catch people from the other team, I get a cramp." I am sure I looked like a drunk camel.  Luckily, my cramp went away. Then it was Game ON!!!!!! I soon figured out that a lot of people from the other team would sneak behind one of the cabins and hide there. So instead of risking getting another cramp, I crept behind the cabin, and surprised many a people coming that way. Tag! One in jail. Tag! Another one in jail!!

Before we left, we picked up sticks along the entry way of the camp. It was not very fun, but it was for a good cause, so I kept on picking up sticks and chatting with my friends. Me and a few others were a good deal ahead, when we start hearing a lot of commotion going on behind us. When I look back, I see people swiping their hands across their face, and a girl crying. Then I hear, "BEES!" Oh great. We have run into a bee nest. Then next thing I know, we are being ushered to the other side of the road. I see one girl crying, and holding her eye, one raising her hand and saying, "I got stung!" And another being helped by her friends to the nurse. Then, my best friend tells me she got stung too. We make it back to where we ate lunch, and my best friend follows a teacher to the nurse. I wish I went with her, but I knew she was going to be OK. I begin to hear conversations about the incident, and I hear that one of my classmates got stung in the face, and cannot feel there either. While we were talking, I see my brother with his shirt off rubbing his back. Really?! Has he gotten stung too?! Luckily, according to the nurse, he didn't get stung. He just had a party with some fire ants. Oh what a field trip this has become!!!!

Right before we were getting ready to leave, I see that one of my friends got stung in the eye. It was all swollen and purple, and she could barely open it. I felt so bad for her! Even though I have never been stung before, I know that HAD to of hurt. I begin to see that one of the girls is not at the buses. I ask one of her friends if she was OK, and she said that her mom came and picked her up. She had gotten stung pretty bad. I feel so bad for all the people who got stung today. I know that there were at least five who got stung. I know that it put a huge dent in their fun day. The important thing is, is that everyone is OK, and nobody had to go to the hospital. I must say, that this has been a field trip I will never forget.

3 Things that Bother Me the Most

We all have things that bother us and worry us. It is just part of life! Today, I am going to share with you a few of the things that bother me.

     1.  I wonder if God will come back before I become an adult. To be honest with you, I don't want God to come back just yet. I want to get married, be a mom, get old and fragile with my hubby, and watch my grandchildren play in the back yard while I sip hot coffee on a hot, July day. :) I want to set goals for myself and achieve them. I want my dreams to come true, and I want to learn more each day as I get older! I want to have the experiences that adults have! If God comes before then, I never will be able to have those adventures.

     2.  The way our country is becoming. We throw God out of the universe every single day that passes by. People are just SO CRUEL now, it is almost becoming second nature to us! I honestly think that the reason that all of this tragic mess is happening is because we do not look to God anymore. We just think we can do it on our own. My dad told my family about the shooting in Washington today. I must say, it  was not shocking information entering into my ears! Yes, it was very sad, but it is so common now.

Millions of babies are getting murdered every year! And that is OK?! Why aren't we doing anything about it?! We don't even give those babies a chance! God had a purpose for them, and we just kill them. How CRUEL.

We are making prison a more comfortable place for thieves, murderers, etc. They get 3 meals a day! They get to take a shower! They have air conditioning! And yet in many places in this world, there are people suffering right now, because they don't have food, water, shelter, etc. And they didn't murder someone! They didn't rob a jewelry store! And yet prisoners are better off than they are?! Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.

     3.  Cancer. It seems like everybody has cancer now! There is a boy at my church who has a very rare cancer, and I am older than him! He has to go through 54 weeks of Chemo. He is about half way done with his treatments, but it has been really hard for him. We have been praying for him, and we know he will get better. The Lord has protected him, and he always will protect him.It scares me because what if I get cancer? I know God has a purpose for everything, but you really are not the same again after you have had cancer. It scares you! You are sick all the time! The cancer may come back! It just bothers me. But, I know that if I put my faith on my Heavenly Father, He will protect me, and give me peace. One of my most favorite Bible verses is Joshua 1:9- Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage. Be not afraid neither be thou dismayed for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Every time I become afraid, or something begins to bother me, I need to look up to my Savior, and trust in Him.

Kate Middleton, Prince William, and Baby George Alexander Louis

Ever since the royal baby George was born, I have taken quite an interest in the royal family in England. I love royalty type subjects, and the royal family is right up my ally! My dream is to one day go to England, and see Kate and William, and cute little George.
The day George was born, I was on Huffington Post ALL the time. Checking for the lasted update, looking for videos to announce whether it was a boy or girl, and even saw the video of Kate and William's  first appearance with George coming out of St.Mary's Hospital.
I like Queen Elizabeth, William, Harry, etc., but I love Kate the most. Her fashion is stellar! Not only is her fashion stellar, but she in general is gorgeous! Even when she came out of the hospital, she looked great! She was wearing a light blue dress with white polka dots. Even though she looked tired, she still had a beaming smile on her face, with that cute little bundle of joy in her arms. I also love their accents! It is so cool to hear them talk on tv!
One thing I noticed when I was watching the first appearance of the royal baby, that their steering wheel is on the left side of the vehicle! When Prince William was putting George in the left side of the Land Rover, I thought he would go to the other side of the car to get to the drivers seat. But no! He just moved up one door, got in, and drove away! It looked so weird! But I guess that is how they roll in England. My opinion is that it would be harder to drive that way.
Although Kate, William, and their new son have gotten a lot of attention and support, I am sure they get tired of people taking pictures of them everywhere they go, interviews, etc. I mean, the whole WORLD was watching their wedding, and the whole world was also waiting to hear the announcement of whether Kate and William had a son or a daughter. They can't even go to the grocery store without someone taking a picture of them! They get no privacy, but they do at the same time.
I am going to continue to follow Queen Elizabeth, Kate Middleton, Prince William, (maybe Prince Harry) and his royal highness, George Alexander Louis someday. Meeting them would be a dream come true! <3

My Experience in the Backyard at 9:30 last night

Let me just say, I had a "wonderful" experience last night in my very own backyard. It was not a pleasant experience. After my experience it was pretty funny, but it really was scary and painful. So here's what happened.
My dad asked me to go turn out the light in his barn in the backyard. I said, "Sure dad..." He was like, "I will stand on the porch while you go turn the light out. I don't really like being outside at night. It creeps me out! A lot of thoughts are running through my head like, "What if someone is watching me in the bushes?" "What if a fox or some other animal creeps up on me and attacks me?" So I like it when my dad, mom or brother is out there with me. :)
When I got to my dad's barn, I simply turned out the light, and shut the door. So far so good! Then, like an absolute moron, I took off running. At night! I could barely see what was in front of me! I hadn't even gone five feet when I tripped over the end of our trailer. (we have a little trailer that we put tree limbs, wood, etc.) Down I went into the wet grass. When I hit the ground, I heard something crack/pop. I got up, and then the pain hit me. I had landed on my arm when I fell. My dad was freaking out. He saw the way I landed, and he thought I broke my arm. He was like, "Are you ok?!" I said, "Ow! My arm!"
Well, then when my dad was escorting me into the house, I started feeling dizzy. It only lasted for about two minutes though, but after I stopped being dizzy, I started shaking. I think it was just shock. I could not really move my arm too much. And when I did, it started shaking. After a couple of minutes, I could move it a little more, but it hurt like CRAZY!! Even though I was in pain, I went to bed. I was kind of tired, but after that adventure, I was in too much pain to fall asleep!! It only took me about twenty minutes tops to fall asleep. Thankfully!
I knew we would eventually start laughing about this whole thing, and after about ten minutes after my accident, my mom started laughing at me. Not because I fell, but because she can so see herself doing that, and she can definitely see me doing something like that. I started laughing too. It wasn't funny when I fell, but we can laugh now. :)
This morning it was better, but it still hurts. I am just thankful I didn't break my arm! If that trailer had been on the concrete, I would have DEFINITELY broken my arm! And I fell on my left arm, and I am left handed. If I had broken it, I would be behind in school, people would have to do everything for me, and it would take a while before I could finally start doing things on my own again. So I am so thankful I did not break my arm!! :)

My first day of 7th Grade!

I survived my first day of 7th grade yesterday!! My day went really good!!! There were a few bumps in the road, but other than that, I had a really good day!!! I love all my classes, and I have every single class with at least one or two of my friends. I must admit, I was really confused, and a bit mad at my locker though. We have combinations on our lockers. Since they are out in the hallway, there is more of a risk of people going into other people's lockers, and stealing things. Not that there is much to steal, but for privacy we have locks on our lockers. I HATE my locker!! And the reason why is because of that wonderful, black round thing that is sticking out of the locker door. A COMBINATION LOCK!! I am not that good at locks, and to have to unlock my locker every time I want to go in my locker is pretty irritating to me. So the day started off good until I got to my locker just before the bell rang for second period. My homeroom (1st period) finished class early so we could go over to the high school building and practice our combinations. Well, I wasn't surprised that I couldn't get mine open. So I asked my homeroom teacher to help me. She tried 2-3 times, and couldn't get it open herself!!!! So, instead of making a big deal about it, and possibly being late for my classes, I just sucked it up, and carried my books in my bookbag for the rest of the day. Let me just say, I hope I NEVER EVER have to carry around all my books at one time on my back again! It was like carrying an 18 wheeler!!!

Unfortunately, my homeroom is still in the elementary building. So in the mornings before the bell rings for 1st period, I don't have time to go to my locker. the reason why is because we only have 5 minutes to get to our homeroom, use the restroom, or get some water. If we are not in our seats by the time that bell rings, you are counted tardy!!!! So I have to carry my first period, AND my second period books with me, pretty much constantly. Once that bell rings for 1st period to end, I have to RUN to the high school building, and be in my seat within 5 minutes. So I won't be able to go to my locker until after 2nd period. But it will all work out. :) I am a fast runner.

I love all my teachers!!!! They are so sweet, funny, and I am sure they will make class fun! It will definitely take some time to get used to all my new teachers and the unfamiliar surroundings of the high school building, but I am looking forward to this year, and filling up my brain with wonderful life lessons, interesting facts, and things that I will need to know for the rest of my life!

I'm Back!!!!!

WOW!!! I can't believe I haven't written since OCTOBER 2012!!!! 6th grade was fast and furious, and I have not had time to write!!!! :)

My summer has flown by SO FAST! It seems just like yesterday I was at the bowling alley with the whole middle school, waiting for summer to come!!Summer just wasn't coming fast enough at the bowling alley!! Now I wish summer would slow down!!! I am starting school tomorrow!!!

I have mixed emotions about going into 7th grade. I am excited, but REALLY nervous. I didn't start getting nervous until last week. I think I am more nervous than last year!!! Last year, I was still in the elementary building. This year, I am moving to the high school building!! YIKES!!! I had break (a snack before 3rd period) in the halls of the high school building last year, and it was pretty confusing. I couldn't find very many of my friends sometimes, or people were just in the way. It was like grasshopper and ant!!!! I am also nervous/dreading all the homework, quizzes, tests, and the worst one ever, EXAMS! I do not want to take exams... No thank you!!! :)

P.E. is also another thing I am nervous about. I didn't do very well in P.E. last year. I am just not athletic!! I have other talents than sports. :) So since I am not athletic, whenever we picked teams, me and 2 of my other friends got picked last EVERY time! I didn't really care, but it still hurt. I had my fair share of emotions in the locker room that's for sure!! I think this year will be much better though. :)

Over the summer, my best friend's mom has been teaching me how to sew! She is so good at sewing. She made a skirt for her daughter that was so pretty!!!! She has an amazing talent. I hope to be sewing some day just like her!!!! In fact, she taught me how to sew my first skirt!! I am going to wear it on the first day of school!! It is a pretty orange, A-Line skirt, that comes right above my knee. I love it, and I can't wait to wear it!!

I found out pretty quickly that I love a sewing machine. It is so fun to watch that needle dive into the fabric, and come back out so quickly! But you also have to know what you are doing. You have to guide your fabric towards the needle. If you just let it do whatever, you will end up getting out your seam/stitch ripper and ripping out a ton of stitches, and starting all over again!! And if you are not paying attention, your finger might make contact with the needle!! And that needle will go straight through your finger! Talk about ruining your day!! I was pretty slow on the sewing machine at first, and I still am, but I am a beginner! So it is ok if I am slow! My least favorite part of sewing would probably be cutting, also the most important part of sewing. It is fun, but not at the same time. If you mess up the cutting, you have to start all over again. I am making a little quilt right now. I just began  it. I can't wait to see what it looks like when I am finished! Soon, I hope to get my own sewing machine, and begin sewing anything and everything that my mind can think of!!

I have also been writing this summer too in my journal. I LOVE to write!! My dream is to become an author someday, or even better, a best selling author!! I was not really writing in my journal about a year ago. I just didn't really want to. But that was also before I fell in love with writing. Here is how I started writing again. The day the Boston Marathon Tragedy happened, I was just thinking about it constantly. So that night, I was like, "I just need to write." So I got my journal, and began to write. And from then on, I have been writing in my journal much much more. My dream/goal for this year, is to compete in some type school writing contest and win it, or place 2nd, or 3rd. That would be so wonderful!!!! It would encourage me in my writing so much!! If it is the Lord's will for me to become a author/best selling author some day, I will most definitely follow His will. If it is not, I will have to see what He has in store for me! I am sure it is something great!! :)

I hope to get on here more often so that I may share my writings with you all!

Acting

I am so sorry that I have not written in a while.  With the fair, homework, (which actually can sometimes be pretty fun) chores, etc. I haven't had time!  But I finally have time to write!!! At school, me and some of my friends take drama class. It is super duper fun!! :) It's where you have different exercises to do in acting, and we even perform in front of the class! One of many of my favorite things to do in drama is watching I Love Lucy. I end up laughing my head off every single time I watch one. :)
We also perform skits. It is where you get into groups no bigger than five, and you write a skit and perform it. I typed up our skit, and my group and I have been practicing our heads off. We have had some difficulties too though. One of my friends in my group broke her arm, but luckily she will still be able to perform. We are also still a little bit mixed up at our lines, and knowing when it's our turn to say something. But with the Lord's help, we will succeed! We are performing in front of the WHOLE middle school, so I am pretty nervous but excited at the same time. The most important part is that we just go out there and glorify God, and have fun! :)
I really would LOVE to become a better actress. I am really good, but when I get up in front of A TON of people, I start getting a bit of stage fright. I would love to overcome that, and show my audience the talent that the Lord has given to me! I would love to act more. I LOVE to be in plays, and I would like some more practice. I was one of the characters in our Christmas play at our church last year, and I had a blast acting! When I grow up, I would love to be a actress, and be in GODLY movies. But it takes baby steps to get there! I still have a LOT to learn about acting! My goal, is to be just Like Lucille Ball. FUNNY!!!! :)
